International GCSEs

International GCSEs

The General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) is a globally recognised school exam-based qualification that students usually take at age 16.

The international version, known as the International GCSE (IGCSE), is designed to accommodate students worldwide while maintaining the same high standards as the UK GCSE.

Each course lasts 1-2 years, with exams taken at the end of Grade 10. Students usually take between 5 to 10 subjects, which can serve as school-leaving qualifications or as a foundation for further academic study.

International GCSE qualifications are equivalent to UK GCSEs, with content and assessments tailored for international learners. These qualifications are studied in over 80 countries, including independent schools in the UK. International GCSEs provide the essential skills and knowledge needed for students aged 15 to 16, allowing them to progress to A Levels, International A Levels, universities, or directly into employment.

For students who have completed Swiss lower secondary school, we offer a fast-track 1-year programme to help them meet the requirements for entry into Swiss universities.
